Additional Customer Service opening hours

Dee Why Customer Service Centre will be open 9am - 1pm on Saturdays throughout July to support the transition to Digital Beach Parking Permits.

Beach Parking Permits are now digital!

The new system will marry your permit to your car registration details. That means no more lost or damaged stickers, a reduction in the misuse of permits, less plastic waste and ultimately a financial saving for ratepayers.

Existing physical Beach Parking Permits expire on 31 August 2026 - apply for your digital permit now.

Eligibility

Northern Beaches ratepayers

Two Beach Parking Permits for each rateable property are available free of charge. Ratepayers can apply once and then not again for 3 years, unless vehicle or circumstances change.

Ratepayers (owner occupiers only) can purchase up to 2 additional permits.

Where a ratepayer is a landlord, it is expected that at least one of their permits will be provided to their tenant. Tenants are encouraged to request it in their rental agreement.

Northern Beaches resident (non-ratepayer)

Residents are entitled to purchase up to 2 Beach Parking Permits per property. Proof of residency is required.

Paid permits will be valid for 12 months.

Cost

A paid Beach Parking Permit is $250 per year.

For paid permits, fees are listed in Council’s fees and charges and are reviewed annually.

Parking permits are non-refundable.

Licence plate changes

A limited number of vehicle registration changes can be made online when a car is sold, stolen, or written off.

For free Beach Parking Permits, there is a maximum 6 allocated changes over the 3 years (an average 2 per year).

For annual paid Beach Parking Permits, you can change your vehicle registration a maximum of 2 times in a year.
