To apply for a digital parking permit follow the step by step instructions below or watch the instructional video.

Step 1: Register

Create an account by clicking the register link in the Create an account box.

  • Input a valid email address
    This email address will be used for all ongoing correspondence regarding your vPermit account and permits. 
     
  • Create your own password
    Passwords must:
    • be at least 8 characters in length
    • contain at least one upper case letter
    • contain at least one number
    • contain at least one special character (e.g. @, %, !, *, #)
  • Click 'Register'
    An email will be sent to complete you account set up. 

Step 2: Verify your address

You can have your address verified on the spot with automatic verification. If you have unusual circumstances or have had more than 5 attempts to upload your documents, you will need to have your address manually verified by Council staff. This can be done online through the vPermit system. Manual verification can take up to 3 days and you will be notified of the review via email. Alternatively, attend a Customer Service Centre and have it sighted by a Customer Service officer.

When uploading images and files note the maximum file size is 4.8MB.  

For owner-occupiers (you own and live in this residence within the LGA)

  • Auto approval
    Input the 7-digit Reference Number found on the right hand side of your Council rates notice. You will also need to upload a photo of your physical NSW Driver Licence with matching name and address.
     
  • Manual review
    Upload a copy of your physical or digital NSW Driver Licence with matching name and address, along with a rates notice or property settlement document as proof of property ownership. 

For owner non-occupiers (you own but do not live in this residence within the LGA)

  • Auto approval
    Input the 7-digit Reference Number found on the right hand side of your Council rates notice. 
     
  • Manual review
    Upload property settlement document or other proof of property ownership. 

For resident non-owners (you live in a residence within the LGA but do not own the residence)

  • Auto-approval
    Upload your NSW Driver Licence with matching address.
     
  • Manual review
    Upload other proof of address documents e.g. valid Lease Agreement, bank statements, utility bills. 

Step 3: Select your permit and enter vehicle registration

Select the required permit from the drop down list and enter the your vehicle registration number. 

Please note trucks, buses, trams, tractors or boats and caravan trailers are not eligible for a permit. 

Step 4: Payment (if required)

Permits will not be active until you have made payment.

  • Online payment
    You'll need a valid credit or debit card. A 0.5% surcharge applies to all card payments. We are working with our bank to remove the payment card surcharge by 1 October 2026. 
     
  • Pay in person
    Visit a Council Customer Service branch (Dee Why, Manly, Mona Vale) to pay in person using cash or a valid debit or credit card. Note a 0.5% surcharge applies to all card payments. We are working with our bank to remove the payment card surcharge by 1 October 2026

How to change your vehicle registration details

Step 1

Log in to your vPermit account.

All your permits will display on the My Permits homepage.

Select ‘Manage Vehicles’ for the permit requiring vehicle changes.

Step 2

You’ll see displayed your current vehicle details linked to the permit.

To make changes, select ‘Edit Vehicle(s)’.

Step 3

You will see a message advising how many changes are allowed, and how many remain.

Amend the vehicle details as required.

Click ‘Save Vehicle(s)’.
