The Former Northern Beaches Development Determination Panel (DDP) 

The operation of the Development Determination Panel (DDP) was reviewed in the context of the State Government’s expectations for panel involvement in the development assessment process and the State Government’s direction to all councils to reduce development application processing times.

As a result of this review, the Northern Beaches Development Determination Panel has been dissolved.

The Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel continues to operate in accordance with State Government requirements for the evaluation of contentious development applications, including applications which receive 10 or more objections. 

Applicants and members of the pubic maintain the ability for involvement in the development assessment process through the Community Participation Plan and Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel (NBLPP) process.

Applications that are not required to be determined by the NBLPP will continue to be assessed and determined in accordance with Council’s existing legislated delegations.

Enquiries relating to the determination of applications that were previously considered by the Development Determination Panel should be directed to the relevant assessment officer.

About the former Development Determination Panel (historical information)

The Development Determination Panel (DDP) was an internal Northern Beaches Council panel with delegated authority to make decisions (determinations) on development applications and related matters of local significance.

The DDP replaced three former Development Unit panels (DU PLEP, DU WLEP and DAU MLEP) from the former Pittwater, Warringah and Manly council areas. The functions and delegations of the DDP were designed to integrate with the Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel.
