The fourth webinar of the series, specifically designed for LGBTIQA+ Communities, featured a facilitated discussion from Sue from Council and Mike from Lifeline Northern Beaches with Claire from Twenty 10, Maree from PFLAG, Hilary from Inner City Legal Service and Siobhan from ACON.
The aim of this webinar was to share out support for our Northern Beaches LGBTIQA+ community members and their friends, families and allies. We wanted to introduce you to some of the supports available through LGBTIQA+ led organisations. We hope that the message you received from our panellists was that support is available, that all sexualities, gender identities and bodies are affirmed and celebrated, and that we, as a broader community can all work to make sure our communities are inclusive.
We had a couple of questions about the use of pronouns used in presenters titles. We asked all of our presenters to identify their pronouns, as using and identifying people's pronouns is a way to share how all of us like to be referred, to ensure we don't make assumptions about people's identity. This is one thing we can do to be more inclusive of our trans and gender diverse communities. Please see more information about pronouns.
