Hi, my name is Laurenne and welcome to Sunshine Lollipops -  A place filled with Sunshine and Rainbows.

After so many years of teaching in childcare centres, I was after a little change and that’s when I began to dream of my very own Family Day Care.

When I was a little girl, I knew that one day I would become a teacher. So after completing high school at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College, I decided to pursue my career in Early Childhood, and began studying my Diploma in Children’s Services; full time. When I received a Distinction and just knew this is what I wanted to extend on, I then furthered my studies and completed a degree in ‘Bachelor of Primary Education’ at University of Sydney.

In my 15 plus years of teaching in the Early Childhood sector, I have been the room leader for all ages 6 months to 6 years. I view my position  as a teacher as an absolute privilege. I am so lucky to be a part of  children’s lives, helping to shape such innocent minds to become proud, secure, resilient and happy little people.

My aim is to create a nurturing, caring and safe environment, which will become your child’s home away from home. I promise to devote all that I have to help your child feel loved and cherished while in my care, ready to grow and learn, reaching their potential in all areas of development in every way possible

I am passionate about creating my educational, play based program that is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. I consistently observe and document your child’s progress in every area of development and create experiences to further explore their interests and develop their skills.

Children in my care become extra little members of my family. Together we use our imaginations in creative play, exploring craft, messy/sensory play, fine motor games and experiences, gross motor play outdoors, dancing, singing, story/literacy time and much much more.
