Northern Beaches Council Pre-schools offer children from 3 to 5 years the social and practical skills and routines to give them the best possible transition to starting ‘big school’. We’d like to help you make the best choice for your children with information on what Northern Beaches Council has to offer and how it works.

Getting children school ready

Northern Beaches Council offers quality, affordable pre-school programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.  Choose a two or three day program or all week, children really enjoy the experience.

Pre-school hours and cost

Our pre-schools operate from 8.15am to 3.45pm Monday to Friday and during the NSW public school term.

Daily fee
Children under 4 years on 31 July$56
Children 4 years old on or before 31 July$53

The NSW Government recently announced that children aged 3-5 can access 15 hours of free pre-school in 2021 - a continuation of the COVID relief package program put in place earlier last year. Take advantage of this offer from the government throughout 2021.

Enrolling your child in pre-school

Catering for 3-5 year olds, preference is given to children starting school the following year and based on the application date. Places are then offered to younger applicants also on a first applied-first choice basis. With limited places, it’s worthwhile putting your children on Council’s pre-school waitlist as soon as possible.

We currently have vacancies at our North Harbour centre on Thursday and Fridays. Call us to enrol today.
