Stage 1 Program - It's all about Waterworks

*Note this excursion compliments Primary Connections Waterworks Children use a 3D catchment model to discover where the water in Narrabeen lagoon comes from, where it goes and what it might carry with it.

Interactive games and discussion encourage the children to explore the different uses of water in Narrabeen Lagoon including recreational activities and as a habitat to many different animal species.

Children observe the storm drain for a first- hand experience of one of the man made processes used to move and direct water. Children make their own water filters to help understand the challenges involved in cleaning water and the difference between treated and non-treated water.

A headland walk to Turimetta Beach offers them a bird’s eye view of water moving through our catchment and the chance to explore environmental clues from the ocean. Exploring the rock platform gives children the opportunity to discover and interactive with the flora and fauna of this unique intertidal habitat.
