Jose is an Honours graduate in Computer Science, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST - 1981 Alumni)
He had a distinguished corporate career in Information Technology, having worked in Europe, Australia and the United States for companies such as IBM, ICL, Sperry Univac, Prime Computer and Fujitsu. His roles ranged from R&D and technical support to Australian and Asia-Pacific Marketing Management.
Residing in Frenchs Forest since 1983, he started a small IT Consultancy Business with a colleague in 1992, which still operates.
Married for 40 years to Isabel, they raised a daughter in the Northern Beaches and are now the proud grandparents of a 3 year old granddaughter.
He has been involved for a number of years in a variety of local issues and was elected as an Independent Liberal to Warringah Council C Ward, now Frenchs Forest Ward, in 2012.
He was Deputy Mayor (2014/15), Chair of the Traffic Committee, Chair of the Economic and Development SRG, Member of the Financial Audit and Risk Committee, Deputy Chair of the Infrastructure SRG and Member of the Open Space & Recreation SRG - 2011/16.
He was appointed to represent the former Warringah Council in the Implementation Advisory Group (IAG) which assisted the Administrator to implement the amalgamation of the Northern Beaches Council (2016/17).
He was elected to the Northern Beaches Council Frenchs Forest Ward, as a member of the Your Northern Beaches Independent Team in 2021.
