Artists' Talks | Portraits Project

Join some of the artists featured in the Portraits Project (7 August – 18 October 2020) ‘in conversation’ with curator Katherine Roberts about the artworks they have created.

Numbers are strictly limited to 30 people and bookings are essential.

These events are part of The Portraits Project - two special exhibitions focussed on portraiture, in celebration of Manly Art Gallery & Museum’s 90 years. Fifteen self-portrait paintings and drawings by acclaimed Sydney artists and a series of twenty commissioned portraits by photographer Greg Weight of key creative contemporary practitioners living and working on the Northern Beaches.

This event is part of Latitude: A Collection of Rare Maps, an exhibition drawn from one of Australia’s most significant private collections of cartographic archives which includes rare 15th-century European maps as well as maps depicting Australia and the Pacific. The maps tell the changing story of map-making from woodblock printing in 1482 to the beginnings of topographical surveying in the late 20th-century.
