Inspired by the famous 1798 poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, author and illustrator Nettie Lodge has created a contemporary visual narrative in a series of 40 paintings. The words first captured the artist’s imagination at the age of 10 and this visual realisation of the poem, created over the past seven years, powerfully illustrates the epic and tragic story of the albatross and the mariner.
