A booking must be made before materials are left out for collection. Material must only be placed out the night before the collection date.
Mainland households
- Mainland households that incur the domestic waste management charge can pre-book two collections within 12 months (subject to availability). The 12 month period commences from the date of your first booking.
If a second booking isn’t made within the twelve month period, the anniversary date resets upon the next booking that is made. - If you are a new owner or tenant and have found when trying to book that two bookings have already been made in the last 12 month period, you will need to wait for the anniversary date to access this service again. Please note bookings are assigned to the property (not the resident or owner).
- Please note, this service is not available during the last week of December and longer wait times may be experienced over the summer holidays due to peak demand.
Unit blocks and townhouses
Unit blocks and townhouses are on one of two booking systems - either a communal collection or an individual collection whereby individual units book the service.
Conduct a property search to find your building's collection service.
If a building wishes to change the collection system, the Strata Manager or Body Corporate is required to call Council on 1300 434 434 to discuss.
Communal Bulky Goods Collection Service: Only Strata and Body Corporate are authorised to make these bookings
Communal booking- Unit blocks have an arrangement for two Bulky Goods Collections for the whole block each year (subject to availability). The 12-month period commences from the date of the first booking.
Individual Bulky Goods Collection Service: Some unit occupiers can make these bookings
Individual booking- Certain unit blocks permit occupiers to pre-book up to two individual Bulky Goods Collections in a 12-month period (subject to availability). If a second booking is not made within this period, the anniversary date will reset to the date of the next booking

Western Foreshore and Scotland Island households have two scheduled Bulky Goods Collections per year. Please check your waste calendar for scheduled dates.
