Community participation is a crucial part of the planning process as it seeks to gather local knowledge, ideas and expertise to create better urban environments while protecting our natural environment and preserving local character.
We ensure community participation is open and transparent to help all participants understand the process and the range of possible outcomes.
The Northern Beaches Community Participation Plan (Plan Making and Development Assessment) came into effect on 1 December 2019.
The Plan applies to Council’s Plan Making and Development Assessment functions. This includes specifying Council’s exhibition requirements for matters regarding:
- Development Applications
- Planning Proposals
- Development Control Plans
- Contribution Plans
- Planning Agreements
- Local Strategic Planning Statements
- Place Plans
