It’s a new year and if you’re aspiring to a new you, the Beaches has plenty on offer to get you there.

Try out a new hobby

With hundreds of activities in our 38 Council community centres, there’s a hobby or activity to suit every New Year resolution. Put on your dancing shoes with lessons, learn a language, unleash your inner artist or move your body with exercise classes. There’s something for all ages including seniors and children.

You could even look at starting your own fitness or support group and hire one of our community centres. Browse venues and availability.

Learn a new skill

Your Library membership opens up a whole range of resources from learning courses on LinkedIn, language courses, career help and more. Check out the range of resources online.

Get reading

Is your New Year resolution to put down your phone and pick up a book? Save money too and borrow from your local library. Check out the extensive catalogue online – you can even reserve your item and click and collect it from your closest library. Borrow audio books too through the Borrow Box or Libby apps – just pop in your Library membership details and you’re all set to start listening.

Challenge yourself

Set yourself a goal and go for it. For example maybe swim in all of our 15 rockpools in a day or skate, scoot or ride in all 10 skate parks.

Volunteer

Not only is volunteering good for your own mental and physical health, but you’re also helping others. Find local opportunities on our volunteer platform Be Collective.
