Vietnam Veterans Day Memorial Service

Friday 18 August - Manly War Memorial - 11.50am to 12pm

The National Servicemen's Association & Affiliates Inc and the Sydney Northern Beaches Sub-Branch, in conjunction with the Northern Beaches Council, will be holding a service to commemorate those who served our country during the conflict in Vietnam and associated theatres, especially the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Guests are kindly asked to be seated by 10.45am. Parade form up at 10.50am, with the Service commencing at 11am.

In the event of wet weather, the service will be held at St Matthew's Church, The Corso.

All are welcome to attend this service and there will be an opportunity for the public to lay a tribute upon the memorial.

  • Vietnam Veterans Vigil Commemorative Service
    A nation-wide commemoration to be held at the Australian gravesites of the 523 Vietnam Veterans who were killed in action (KIA) or died in-theatre.

  • Vietnam Veterans Day RSL Commemorative Service 
    50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War
    War Veterans Village, Narrabeen - 2pm

  • Vietnam Veterans Day Wreath Laying Ceremony
    50th anniversary of the formal proclamation ending Australia's participation in the Vietnam War. A simple 15-minute ceremony with a short address. There will be an opportunity to lay a wreath or tribute.

Sunday 20 August

  •  Vietnam Veterans March and Commemoration
    50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War
    March will form up at 10.30am at Iluka Road, Palm Beach, with the march-off at 10.45am to Club Palm Beach (street closures will apply). The Knox Old Boys Pipe Band will lead the march, followed by Vietnam Veterans and then other sub-Branch members. A commemoration service will then commence at 11am in front of the Club.
