Northern Composure is the largest and longest-running youth band competition in the area and offers musicians local exposure as well as invaluable stage experience. The competition involves three rounds of heats during March, held at locations across the Northern Beaches, followed by the final in April as part of National Youth Week celebrations. With a total prize pool of over $15,000 up for grabs.

- Heat 3 - Friday 20 March - YOYOs Forest Youth Centre
The final will be held on Friday 3 April 2020 at PCYC Dee Why as part of National Youth Week Celebrations.
A performers workshop will be held in the lead up to the heats, this will cover all elements of the competition as well as very valuable industry advise. It is compulsory for at least one member from each band to attend.
About the Competition
Northern Composure Band Comp is open to bands 12 - 24 years of age. The average age of the band must be no more than 19.
Six bands will compete at each heat. Two bands from each heat will progress to the final – one judge’s choice and one audience choice. Judges choice is awarded by judges score. Audience choice is awarded by number of audience votes. Each paying patron receives one vote.
Bands will be judged on Musicianship, Originality, Stage Presence, Youth Audience Appeal and Overall Presentation. Stage time is 40 minutes, this includes set up and pack down.
The following production will be supplied - staging, lighting, DIs, microphones, PA and sound engineer. Bands are required to supply their personal amps, instruments, effects and drum kit, etc.

A $50 entry fee (incl. GST) must be paid (by successful bands only) prior to playing in their heat. DO NOT send entry fee until you have been informed that your band is competing. Fees are not refundable.
As an all ages venue, no alcohol, drugs or intoxicated persons will be permitted on the premises and performers are expected to tailor their performance appropriately.
