Each year Northern Beaches Council celebrates and recognises outstanding contributions from local residents and events through our annual Australia Day Awards.
Nominations for the 2027 awards are now open
Award winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on Thursday 21 January 2027.

- Senior Citizen of the Year (65 years and over)
- Young Citizen of the Year (under 25 years)
- Sportsperson of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
- Outstanding Community Service Awards
Key dates
- Nominations open: Tuesday 1 September 2026
- Nominations close: Tuesday 27 October 2026
- Eligibility checks: 27 October - 5 November 2026
- Judging assessment process: 5 November - 26 November 2026
- Successful / unsuccessful nominations are notified: By 10 December 2026
- 2027 Australia Day Awards Ceremony: Thursday 21 January 2027
