NAIDOC Week 2026 runs from Sunday 5 July – Sunday 12 July 2026. It’s a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the world’s oldest continuing cultures and connect with local communities.

Celebrating 50 years

In 2026, NAIDOC marks a significant milestone - 50 years of honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, culture and resilience.

2026 theme - 50 Years of Deadly

This year’s theme celebrates the people, communities and movements that have built NAIDOC over the past 50 years. What began as a movement for recognition and rights has grown into a national celebration led by community. It reflects the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, honours those who have led the way, and looks to the future with pride and confidence.
