Ivanhoe Hotel

Cameron Jones Trio
Friday 23 September - 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Located on the Corso, Ivanhoe Hotel is a family friendly venue with a late night younger crowd.

Journey into the art of gypsy jazz through Cameron’s storytelling performances. Percussive rhythms on his Selmer-style guitar showcase a finely balanced combination of bright guitar melodies with fullness of tone. During his travels to Europe, Cameron traced the footsteps of gypsy jazz legend Django Reinhardt. He learned from the original masters. Today, like the founders, Cameron risks following the music in the moment—no two performances are alike. Accompanied by rhythm guitar and double bass, he shares down-to-earth manouche jazz loaded with a rare depth of understanding. Cameron is committed to seeing gypsy jazz flourish in Australia. His debut album, The Waterfall Way, was released in 2018, and his next album will be released early 2023

Join Cameron for a vibrant show of dangerous spontaneity and a deep dive into authentic manouche jazz.

Cope Street Parade
Saturday 24 September - 7.30pm – 10.30pm

Join us at Hotel Steyne, Manly’s oldest and most iconic pub known for its live music and special events for a weekend of Jazz.

Sydney born and bred, The Parade does love songs like no others can. The Cope Street Parade are considered one of Australia’s most established creative music ensembles. They blend spicy rhythms with unique song-writing that span the genres of jazz, folk, pop, gypsy and swing. With tender ballads and rollicking dance numbers they capture the spirit and warmth of early music styles and cheekily blur the lines between the contemporary and the classic. Influences include Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Father John Misty and Leadbelly. The hot sounds of gypsy swing mixed with elements of New Orleans traditional jazz meld together to create a style of music that sounds both new and old yet always uniquely Australian. Think if Django Reinhardt met Louis Armstrong in a good old country.
