  • All films must be no longer than 5 minutes in length, including intro and credits.
  • Participants must be aged 12 – 24 years
  • The film must tie back to the theme of Generations. Entrants are required to include, mention or create a theme about someone of or something from a different generation. This is open to a team’s creative interpretation and can be represented in different ways.
  • Films must include specific items and phrases. Take a look at the 24/7 page to find out what they are
  • All participants must agree to and sign the 24/7 Youth Film Festival Participant Declaration and  Indemnity Form. Participants under 18 will need parent / guardian to sign on their behalf.
  • Only entered team members can be directly involved in the making of your film.
  • Filmmakers must have permission of all actors/extras featuring in the film. Please be aware of people in background shots also – i.e., children in a public location cannot be present in your film
  • All films must be viewable by a public audience. No inappropriate content should be present, i.e., drugs, alcohol, guns, abusive innuendos, cigarettes, violence. The worst-case scenario is that the film will be removed from the competition, but we do not want this to happen, so please work with us.
  • Due to the variety of ages of people attending the screenings all films must have an M Rating or less. For further details on this check out Australian Bureau of Classification.
  • Teams are not to partake in dangerous, offensive, unlawful and/or irresponsible stunts or locations. Doing so will result in disqualification from the competition. Your safety during the 24/7 Youth Film Festival Comp is our number one priority.
  • Please do not use toy/replica guns for filming.
  • You must have permission to use music in your film. There are a number of free copyright music websites you can access. Please acknowledge music source in film credits.
  • Films are permitted to use superimposed text and animation.
  • By entering a film, you are giving permission for your work to feature in any way, shape or form as part of any related and/or other event in its entirety or in edited format.
  • All films must be made and submitted in the period as designated by organisers.
  • The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Most importantly, all participants are required to have fun in the making of your film!
