The Northern Beaches Seniors Festival celebrates and recognises seniors for the role they play and the contributions they make to our local community.

The official Festival theme for 2026 is ‘Live life in colour', which encourages seniors to try something new, embrace creativity, new connections and an active lifestyle while celebrating their life journeys and future adventures.

The Festival will run for 4 weeks on the Northern Beaches, from Monday 2 March to Sunday 29 March 2026, corresponding with NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 3 to 15 March.

Expressions of interest - Senior Festival Program

We’re calling for community groups, organisations and businesses to be part of the Seniors Festival events and activities program for over 60s. Applications close Monday 22 December, 2pm.

By hosting an activity or event, you’re not only joining the celebration. You'll be contributing to bringing the community together for this much loved annual festival. You'll also have the chance for your event or activity to gain exposure and be featured in the:

• Online Program Listing: Your event or activity will appear on the Seniors Festival webpage.
• The Seniors Festival Highlights Brochure: selected events and activities will be showcased in a downloadable and printed festival guide.

The Festival is widely promoted across Council's platforms, including our community newsletter, social media channels and Council Event Calendar.

Your event or activity should be based around the following themes:

• Health and wellbeing, including physical and emotional wellbeing, food and nutrition, brain health and dementia prevention
• Technology, intellectual stimulation and art appreciation
• The value of social connections including intergenerational and multicultural relationships
• Care for the environment
• End of life planning – topics such as enduring power of attorney and guardianship, and advanced care planning
• Accessing aged care and accommodation options, downsizing and decluttering.

Call for stallholders - Seniors Connect Expo

As part of the Festival Program, Council will be coordinating a Seniors Connect Expo to showcase local seniors groups on Friday 6 March, 10.30am to 1.30pm, The Showroom, Dee Why RSL Club

If you are a local seniors group interested in participating in the expo as a stallholder, please email seniors@northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au by Monday 9 February. Please do not submit your stallholder request to the Expression of Interest Seniors Festival Program form.

The expo will include entertainment and information sessions of interest to seniors.
