A three week celebration

Every year Northern Beaches Council holds the Northern Beaches Seniors Festival, with a program of themed activities focusing on health and mental stimulation, food and nutrition, multicultural and intergenerational relationships, technology, accommodation options and local services.

Our festival complements the NSW Seniors Festival, the state-wide event designed to thank, celebrate and recognise seniors for the role they play and the contributions they make to the NSW community.

Northern Beaches Council is committed to working with local community groups, services and individuals for the empowerment and wellbeing of our seniors. Our annual Seniors Festival program aims to encourage the over 60s to connect with the community and develop new skills and interests.

The Northern Beaches Festival runs from Tuesday 13 to Friday 30 April (official NSW Festival 13-24 April).

The format will be similar to the 2020 program. However, with COVID safety of uppermost importance, face-to-face events will need to operate in line with NSW public health orders.

We'd like to give you the opportunity to promote your group’s online or face-to-face activity (with a COVID safety plan).

We are are calling for events and activities based around the following themes:

  • Health including physical activity, food and nutrition, and dementia
  • Technology, intellectual stimulation and art appreciation
  • End of life planning and accommodation options
  • The value of relationships including intergenerational, multicultural and the wisdom of age
  • Libraries

Submission of your event/activity does not mean automatic inclusion in the Festival printed program. Only events and activities especially coordinated for Seniors Festival will be considered (a selection process will determine activities included).
