We believe everyone should have equal access to services and support. This includes providing information in the languages of our community, holding information days for people of culturally diverse backgrounds and offering services which promote social inclusion.
Community Northern Beaches
Community Northern Beaches provides migration and settlement services, community information and personal support and counselling.
They assist in a number of areas, including case management, legal advice, applying for and accessing government, health, and financial services, language services, material aid, free computer usage
Their services include a Homework Club for children with English as their second language and an ESL Conversation programme which helps new migrants to have enough conversational English to feel confident in a job interview and be able to follow instructions when offered a job. Find out more.
Community Connect Northern Beaches
Community Connect Northern Beaches recognises the very important role of Multicultural Carers and aims to support them in their caring role. We provide information and social support to people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who reside in the Northern Beaches Council area.
The Multicultural Carers Program provides support groups for CALD carers on a monthly basis. Groups are led by facilitators who speak the following languages:
- Chinese (Mandarin)
Our groups provide an excellent opportunity for carers to meet other carers in similar situations and discuss issues related to their caring role.
Guest speakers are invited to the groups to provide information on services available and how to access them.
