Prospero’s quest for vengeance is obsessive, blinding her to her own short-sighted – and cynical view of the world. Through her love for her daughter – and her increasing awareness of her treatment of both Ariel and Caliban – she comes to an understanding of not only a humanist world view, but also of herself.
