Free emergency planning workshop for service providers working with people who face additional challenges in a disaster
Do you work with people with disability or seniors? Attend this workshop to learn how you can help them create a personal emergency plan that’s tailored to their needs.
This interactive workshop is based on the Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) approach developed by the University of Sydney.
What to expect?
- This 2 hour workshop will provide you with an introduction to the P-CEP approach that helps people identify their strengths and support needs and plan for an emergency.
- You’ll be given a copy of the P-CEP workbook that can guide conversations with your service participants as they develop their personal plan.
- There will also be information presented to give an overview of local disaster risks.
Who should attend?
The workshops are designed for service providers working with people who face additional challenges in an emergency situation including people with disabilities and seniors.
If you have any accessibility or inclusion requirements, please let us know prior to attending the event. We will try to make necessary accommodations wherever possible.
