Mackerel Beach is located on the Pittwater. Dogs are permitted off-leash and on-leash at set times on Mackerel Beach from the public wharf north to the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and dogs are prohibited on the beach south of the wharf as set out in Council's Dog Control Policy No 30.

Off-Leash, On-leash and Prohibited Area Information 

• The off-leash area can be viewed on this map. 
• Dogs are permitted off-leash in the off-leash area at these times:
  • sunrise to 9:30am
  • 5pm to sunset.
• At all other times dogs are prohibited in the off-leash area except if they are on-leash using the shortest direct route between boats and the grassed strip.
• Dogs are prohibited at all times on Mackerel Beach south of the public wharf.
• Dogs are prohibited at all times from the adjoining Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
• Please be mindful of local residents, other users of the off-leash area and users of the wharf.
