The garden at the Creative Space was designed by Andrew O’Sullivan, a local ? horticulturalist and landscape designer.

A group of dedicated volunteers look after the garden to  keep all the plants healthy and maintain its original design .

The gardens key features include:

  • it surrounds an artist workshop to intentionally reflect this creative energy;
  • the plants are themed and form a series of room’s or spaces around the building;
  • the plants are free-form or ‘directionally’ pruned to achieve  single, long pendulous branches that arch over the paths and form arbours or green tunnels.
  • We’ve  preference plants that are rare, fragrant and edible;
  • It’s  based on sustainable principles: many of the plants are salvaged and reused, they are drought tolerant, create microclimates (reduce heat islands) and provide passive cooling for the building.

When visiting the Creative Space, make sure you take some time to stroll along the circular path that surrounds the building to admire the plants and the way they have been used – you’re sure to be impressed.
