'Old things in my neighbourhood' 

Walk around and capture what you consider old on the Northern Beaches.

  1. This is a free competition running for September 2018. Opening date is Saturday 1 September Closing date is 11:59pm on 30 September. Late and early entries will not be accepted.
  2. Participants take photos on their smartphones and enter competition via Instagram using #northernbeaches2018.
  3. This competition is open to anyone (Council staff can’t enter).
  4. Ten maximum entries per account.
  5. Entries will only be accepted through Instagram #northernbeaches2018
  6. Northern Beaches Council accepts no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to this competition, including the loss of or corruption of files.
  7. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges selected by Local Studies staff. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. Each winner will be notified by a message on their Instagram account a week prior to the Awards Night, and announced on Northern Beaches Council Library website.
  9. Most participants will have their photos added to the Local Studies Photograph Collection.
  10. Entrants will have their photos displayed as part of a travelling exhibition of the entries.
  11. The Northern Beaches Council Local Studies will be responsible for moderating the entries. Any photos deemed inappropriate or not in line with these terms and conditions will not be accepted.
  12. Northern Beaches Council retains the right to publicise the winners names and use the images across all marketing, promotional and marketing channels and materials at no notice to you and no fee.
  13. Copyright of all images submitted for the competition remains with the photographer and is subject to the copyright policies for posting images on Instagram. Each entrant grants permission for the image to become part of the Local Studies archive and for Council to use the image in accordance with Clause 12.
  14. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them.
  15. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of subject persons or owners of property and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any relevant laws.
  16. Northern Beaches Council reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Competition without notice.
  17. Submitting an entry into the competition acknowledges your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
