Today, in celebration of eWeek, we're showcasing Story Box Library. It is a fantastic resource for children that explores just how important oral stories are for language and reading development as well as listening and concentration skills.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when using Story Box Library:

Access and logging in

You can always access Story Box Library from our Digital Kids page. Use your library card number and PIN to log in. If you have any trouble, please ask staff on your next visit or contact us

Activity Time

Each story comes with Activity Time which are tailored activities that require minimal preparation. For example, all you need for the Pig the Pug Activity Time is toys! The aim of Activity Time is to help children make connections with the text before and after viewing stories to aid understanding.

Adjusting the story

Playback speed can be adjusted to help children follow along with the story. Closed captions are also available to assist children with English as a second language, hearing impairments or with specific learning disorders such as dyslexia. Selected stories will soon also feature Auslan-interpretations.
