About the award
A global stage for the artists' book
Northern Beaches Libraries’ Artists’ Book Award attracts entries from artists around the world, celebrating contemporary book art and creative practice.
An artists’ book uses the form or function of the book as inspiration, offering artists an opportunity to explore materials, ideas and the possibilities of the book as an art form.
Every two years, selected works are exhibited at Manly Creative Library. Judges then select works to be acquired for the Northern Beaches Libraries’ artists’ book collection, which now includes more than 100 works.
Any artists’ book created within the past 2 years is eligible for entry
The award is acquisitive, with selected works becoming part of the Northern Beaches Libraries collection.
Prepare your submission
To enter the award, you will need to submit:
- An Artists' Statement up to 100 words
- Five images of your entry, as jpeg format no larger than 2MB
- Image filenames: SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_TITLE
- Entry fee of $40.00 AUD (GST inclusive) + booking fee, non-refundable

Entries close: 10am, Monday 7 December 2026
Successful entrants notified: by 5pm, Friday 22 January 2027
Selected works to be received: by 5pm, Friday 5 March 2027
Opening & announcement of acquisitions: Friday 9 April 2027
Exhibition: Saturday 10 April to Sunday 2 May 2027
Works collected or returned between: Wednesday 5 May and Thursday 20 May 2027
