Northern Beaches Libraries has four educational games for young kids that are interactive and entertaining. These are Animalia Education, CoderZ, Rainforest Coding and Busy Things. For eBooks and storytelling, we have four wonderful resources that make reading a little extra fun. These are Story Box Library, The Graeme Base Collection, Tumblebook Library, Who next and Storyline Online.  

Story Box Library

Story Box Library is an educational website created for children where stories by local authors and illustrators are read aloud by Australian and New Zealand storytellers. Animalia Education

Animalia Education for Libraries is an interactive literacy app based on Animalia, the iconic picture book by Graeme Base. Children work through various activities while meeting every character from the picture book along the way. Animalia is compatible with iPads, Macs, Windows and android devices. Once you have downloaded the app, use your library card number to log in. 


The Graeme Base Collection

For more than 30 years, the beautiful stories and artwork of Graeme Base has captivated readers all over the world. Now, these beloved books are bought to life in a wonderful new way, narrated by the author himself. This collection is compatible with iPads, Macs, Windows and Android devices. Once you have downloaded the app, use your library card number to log in. 


CoderZ is an online, interactive environment that helps kids learn science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by coding virtual 3D robots. The CoderZ platform is aimed at kids aged 10 and over. To log in, navigate to the Join a Library tab and enter your library card number under Library code. You can then create a username and password and select your grade. 

Rainforest Coding

Rainforest Coding is an exciting adventure filled with robots! It is an an online learning environment that features instructional animated and interactive tutorials to teach young kids all about coding. 


Busy Things

Busy Things is a wonderfully quirky online educational resource! Filled with fun, humorous characters and lively colourful settings, children love to play these fun and educational games & activities!


Tumblebook Library
