Family History Fridays

Family History Fridays are held at Dee Why Library 10am - 4.00pm with dedicated volunteers available to help you with your research. Keep an eye on our website to see when these sessions will resume.

Family History Group

Our Family History Group meets on the first Thursday of every second month at Dee Why Library. Enjoy morning tea and guest speakers or workshops at each meeting. New members are welcome and there is a $13 subscription fee to join. Keep an eye on our website to see when the meetings will resume.

Family History Reference Collection

Dee Why Library has an extensive collection that includes:

  • Over 400 specialist books on various aspects of genealogy and family history;
  • Magazines;
  • CDs, and
  • Microfiche and microfilm.

To search the collection you can use the library catalogue or contact our Local Studies team if you have a specific request. Public computers at all Northern Beaches Council Libraries have access to Ancestry.com and Find My Past. Northern Beaches Library members are also able to access Find My Past and Ancestry Library from home, for free, for a limited time. For more information, please head here.
