Our early literacy programs for children
The Northern Beaches Library early literacy programs run during NSW school terms.
These programs are free, and unless indicated, no bookings are required. When attending programs at Manly Library, remember to collect a free ticket from the front counter to secure your spot.
This is a lap-sit program specifically designed for carers and babies up to around 12 months of age. Learn songs and rhymes in a group setting that you can use at home with bub to help develop early literacy skills.
- Tuesday: Forestville and Warringah Mall

- Thursday: Dee Why and Glen Street
*Additional Baby Bounce session on at Manly library at 10.30am - 11am.
Support your child to develop auditory skills, acquire language and support speech development with our Rhyme Time sessions. Suitable for toddlers+.

This is an interactive program for carers and children aged 3 years to school age. Enjoy stories, songs and rhymes to help develop early literacy skills.

We welcome your participation in our library's early literacy programs, but if you can’t make it in person please check out our Story Time playlist on YouTube to sing along with familiar faces from the library service.
You can also have story time at home with Story Box Library- a collection of children's stories read aloud by famous faces from Australia and New Zealand. Login using your library card number and pin.
