Christmas cards made by children at our Vacation Care centres for Home Library clients

Monday, 6 December 2021

Hundreds of Home Library Service clients are in for a festive boost this December as children in our four Vacation Care centres have hand-crafted Christmas cards to deliver to our community’s most vulnerable.

After a tough year of lockdown for our Home Library clients, the kids were excited to be involved and deliver a little joy this festive season. The initiative has also taught the children an important lesson about caring for others in the community.

A lot of hard work and creative flair have been used to decorate the cards with koalas and kangaroos wearing antlers, Christmas trees, Santa and elves, love hearts, Christmas puddings and much more.

The Christmas cards are just one of the fun and entertaining items the Home Library Service delivers to its over 300 clients in their last delivery for the year. A newsletter with book reviews and poetry, 2022 calendar, word search and crossword is sent along with their usual library items. Additional library items are also included to make sure clients have plenty of entertainment over the holidays.

Well done to the children and staff at our Vacation Care centres for being involved. Our Summer holiday program is now open for bookings.
