There are many opportunities to connect with your book club safely from home, you just have to go digital. Here's how you can do so in three easy steps.

1. Access Overdrive

We have many eBooks in Overdrive that are always available so each member of your club can borrow instantly. You can check out this curated list put together by our librarians or browse the classics

Don’t forget that you will each need your own library card number and pin to borrow. If you would like to read on a mobile device, download the Libby app from your device's app store.

2. Prepare discussion questions

We recommend LitLovers, an online literary resource that provides questions for both fiction and nonfiction. You can also access this list of popular book club questions from Oprah Daily.

3. Set up a way to meet

If you need a hand organising video calls through programs such as Zoom or FaceTime, check out the tutorials available through LinkedIn Learning. All you need to do is log in with your library card number and pin, then search for the program you are using in the search bar.

Do you have a book club kit at home? We don’t want you to worry, the kit will not be due back while the libraries are closed. When the stay-at-home orders are lifted, you can return the kit to your closest branch.
