Everyone reads and listens differently so it's important to know how you can tailor your eLibrary apps to suit you. Here are our tips for customising your reading experience.

Tips to customise your reading experience

Finding titles in different languages

Indyreads offers titles in seven languages other than English including Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese and Vietnamese.

To find these titles, head to Search in the bottom menu and select the Language menu.

Selecting the best font

Both Libby and BorrowBox offer many font options to suit different reading abilities, including larger or dyslexic font.

Libby also offers the option to read in Sepia or Dark mode to ease readability. Head into your borrowed eBook to access both of these options.

Change how you listen

If you are blind or vision impaired and use Voiceover to control your advice, you can also use this feature in BorrowBox to read your eBooks with ease.

You can also tailor the playback speed in both BorrowBox and Libby so you can enjoy eAudiobooks at your own pace. To find these options, head into your borrowed eAudiobook.

Need help?

If you need help with any of these apps, you can contact us by emailing library@northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au.

Alternatively, you can browse the help pages provided by Libby or watch the Indyreads videos created by the State Library of New South Wales.
