All Northern Beaches Library branches reopened on Monday 1 June. To ensure we adhere to NSW Health rulings, some of our services are operating differently. To plan your visit, please see our frequently asked questions below.

Are meeting rooms available?

They are not available to be booked for the time being due to social distancing restrictions. 

Are there any fees?

From 1 July, overdue fees on late items will resume for items borrowed from that date. 

Any items that are available on the shelf in any of our libraries, will continue to be transferred to your pick up branch for free. If items are out on loan or are new items still being processed, a $2.00 reservation fee will apply. 

Are there conditions for entry?

Yes. In line with NSW Health orders, all people entering the libraries must provide their name and contact number as a method for contact tracing. QR codes are available on posters near the entry door to the library. Use your smartphone camera app to scan the QR code, which will open a webpage where you can fill in your details. If you're unable to check using the QR code please let a staff member know so that they can assist you.

We ask that you use the hand sanitiser we have available at all branches and practise social distancing at 1.5 metres apart. 

Are there limits to the number of people who can come in?

Yes. The floor space of each library has been measured to ensure we follow NSW Health regulations for social distancing. You may be asked to wait if space is at capacity.

Are you still delivering?

As our branches are reopening, we will no longer be able to offer our Library2U delivery service. If you are unable to leave your home, please contact us

Can I use a computer?

Yes. Access is limited to one hour per day per customer so that as many people as possible have an opportunity. 

Do you have new opening hours?

Yes we do! We will reopen with new and improved opening hours. Please head here to find your branch's information. 

How can I return my items?

All return chutes are open and are being emptied regularly. Items will be held in quarantine for 24 hours before being processed with no fees charged.

I placed a reservation but I'm not sure it will be delivered. What do I do?

We completed all our deliveries at the end of Friday 29 May. All other items can be collected at your local library and you will be notified via email when they are ready for you. Please bring your library card and a bag when you come in to borrow. 

Will programs resume?

In line with NSW Health rulings, the safety of our customers and staff is our top priority so we will not be resuming our programs for the time being.
