The Eastern Banjo Frog is a large frog that burrows into the ground. They are found in a wide range of habitats from woodland and rainforests to farmland and grassy areas. At the first sign of danger it dives to the bottom of the pond and hides in the mud.

It is most active after heavy rain in spring and summer.
