Council was thrilled to host four teenagers from Brewarrina as part of our Youth Exchange Program last week.

We asked them a few questions to see if they enjoyed their stay as much as our youth team enjoyed hanging out with them. This is what they said:

Sarafina (13 years old)

I loved this trip because it was my first time on a ferry, plane, train and in Sydney.

I learnt that Sydney is a busy place with traffic! I learnt to surf and that the beach can be rough.

I have two favourite people I met on the trip – Hayley and Ella. They can to Brewarrina on the exchange before.

Thank you for this opportunity.

Terrilee (13 years old)

I liked everything on the trip! My favourite was the laser tag, I haven’t done that before.

I learnt to surf. I didn’t want to do it, I was worried. But I learnt to try new things. And now I know I can do it.

I will be telling others to do this youth exchange.

Ebon (15 years old)

I liked the ferry but most of all the plane – I haven’t experienced a plane ride before.

The favourite person I met was Justin (Council’s youth services team leader). He is funny and kind. And I liked Matt the surfing instructor.

I learnt about programs during our visit to Koori Radio station. I am interested in getting into the Young Black and Deadly program.

Shakiah (13 years old)

I loved Luna Park, bowling, laser lag surfing and the beach!

I loved ten pin bowling – it was my first time. I now feel more confident with catching buses.

I will tell my friends: this trip was the best.
