This week work began on the boardwalk connecting South Curl Curl beach to Fisherman’s Walk. The improved path will allow for improved, safe access for people of all ages and abilities.
Divided into 2 stages, the work will begin with the construction of new ramps and path behind the Curl Curl swim club to connect the two car parks. This work is expected to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
The second stage will include the boardwalk connection of the swim club to Fisherman’s Walk. Completion for the project is expected in late August 2025, again subject to weather conditions.
Once complete, the new path will offer a safe and more enjoyable experience for everyone wanting to appreciate our beautiful coastline, without having to dodge cars while walking through the upper carpark.
During construction, the area will be fenced off for public safety with alternate access for pedestrians, prams and wheelchairs. Access to the rockpool will be maintained at all times.
This coastal walkway and boardwalk area are a key feature of the area and part of Council’s broader commitment to providing accessible, safe and sustainable infrastructure that enhances enjoyment of our natural environment.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
