Northern Beaches Council is looking for young people aged 12 - 21 to be the voice of youth programs, events and services and help shape the future of the area.

Applications for the Northern Beaches Youth Advisory Group are now open until Sunday 18 February.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the Youth Advisory Group was a way for local young people to contribute to the future of the Northern Beaches while receiving great benefits including training opportunities.

“The Youth Advisory Group will work directly with Council staff to help identify the needs and wants of young people in the region.

“We’re looking for passionate young people with big ideas who care about their community,” Mayor Regan said.

Commitment to the program includes monthly meetings with extra upskilling, training and volunteering opportunities available.

As well as gaining valuable life and employment skills, successful applicants will also have the chance to make new friends and enjoy benefits such as free entry to youth events including band nights.

No formal experience or skills are needed to apply.
