Five local surf lifesaving clubs across the Northern Beaches will benefit from almost half a million dollars worth of building repairs and works, both on and around their clubhouses.

Mayor Michael Regan said the works will occur at Collaroy, Narrabeen Beach, Queenscliff, South Narrabeen and Whale Beach Surf Life Saving clubs.

“They will cover a range of works - from installing closed circuit television equipment, to fixing up corroded structural steelwork, to helping with refurbishment of a hall, to resurfacing and reconfiguring a car park, replacing roller doors and repainting one of the clubhouse buildings,” Mayor Regan said.

“The surf clubs have been requesting these works and I am pleased we have been able to identify some savings to be able to get the works done this year.

“Our surf lifesaving clubs play a major role in the Northern Beaches community and it’s great to be able to work with them to upgrade facilities, both for club members and the broader community.”
