Northern Beaches Council is welcoming swimmers back to our two aquatic centres from Monday 27 September following the easing of restrictions by the NSW Government.

Both Warringah Aquatic Centre and Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton outdoor pools will be open in line with NSW Public Health Orders. There will be:

  • a max of 120 people at Manly and 50 people at Warringah permitted under the 4sqm restrictions
  • swimming sessions limited to 60 minutes (arrive, swim, leave)
  • limits on gatherings of 2 unless from the same household, or 5 if all are fully vaccinated (not including children 12 and under)
  • the return of the squad program

Mayor Michael Regan said he was pleased to be able to open the pools to the public once more.

“Opening our pools is the first real sign that we are the road to a return to some kind of normality,” Mayor Regan said.

“It will be welcome news for all those people who rely on our pools for exercise or are looking for somewhere to take the kids in the school holidays.

“We’ll be implementing all requirements to keep patrons safe, including QR code check ins and capping the number of visitors to reduce crowding. We’ll also be asking visitors to comply with the Public Health Orders including wearing a mask, using the hand sanitiser provided and adhering to gathering rules.

“I’m looking forward to all the pools and , in fact, all our services and facilities being available for use. We are certainly well into planning for that so we can reopen as soon as we get the green light from the government.”
