To facilitate major works on the $10.5 million Warriewood Valley Upgrade project Macpherson Street between Boondah Road and Warriewood Road will be re-closed as planned from the week beginning 9 January 2017 for approximately 9 months, until works are completed.

One lane will also be closed on Warriewood Road between Hill Street and Vuko Place from 16 January 2017. Phased traffic signals will be in place to manage the flow of vehicles through the work site during the duration of the works.

Acting Deputy General Manager Environment and Infrastructure, Andrew Davies thanked the community for their patience whilst these vital works are completed.

"This essential upgrade is a huge investment in the area and focuses on the major entry and exit points for Warriewood Valley, including a flood evacuation route via Macpherson Street.

"We apologise for the inconvenience that these changed traffic conditions may cause and thank you for your patience while we complete these vital improvements", Mr Davies said.

The next phase of the project will include infrastructure on Macpherson Street to improve creek flows, stormwater drains and gutters to prepare for the building of a new 12 metre-long bridge over Narrabeen Creek.

A letter has been sent to local residents about the works and signs will alert visitors to the area. State Transit Authority bus detours and shuttles will continue to operate as normal.

The Warriewood Valley Upgrade project is part of the Warriewood Valley Roads Masterplan to drive major investment in the area and plan for future population growth. Benefits of the Warriewood Upgrade Project include:

  • Improved creek flows
  • A new 12 metre-long bridge over the creek
  • Road upgrades
