Northern Beaches Council will hold a second free information session for those wishing to go solar at home, following the overwhelming response to the first session in July.

The session will be held on Tuesday 18 September between 6.30 and 8.30 pm at the PCYC in Dee Why.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said it is clear there is strong demand for information about how solar power works and the energy savings that can be made.

“These sessions help demystify the publicity around solar power and battery storage and that is probably why they are so popular.”

“Residents can go to this free session to get advice on whether solar energy is right for their home and how to best go about installing it,” Mayor Regan said.

Council works with Our Energy Future, an initiative founded by a group of councils, to provide the workshops.

The solar seminars are an initiative in Council’s Charge Ahead program, designed to help local residents save energy in their homes and reduce their carbon emissions.

“Charge Ahead offers our community practical and effective tools to help them have a positive impact on the environment while also saving money,” Mayor Regan said.
