Join multi award-winning author Belinda Castles to discuss her newest dramatic release Bluebottle at Mona Vale Library, on Wednesday 27 June, 7 – 8pm.

Set in the “sprawling paradise of Bilgola Beach”, this latest novel by Belinda opens on Boxing Day in 1994 - to what seems an average suburban Australian family.

But appearances are deceiving.

Titled Bluebottle, the novel follows the Bright family as they deal with their father’s obsession with a girl gone missing from their neighbourhood.

The father, Charlie, is a dominating and difficult man - and his obsession with the missing girl leads his children to begin to think he’s somehow involved in her disappearance.

Gripping and evocative, Bluebottle shows how Charlie’s obsession shapes the Bright family’s lives, binding them to an inescapable past.

Belinda Castles has won the Australian/Vogel's Literary Award for her novel The River Baptists in 2006. She is also a winner of the Sydney Morning Herald's Best Young Novelists for 2008, while her novel Hannah & Emil won the Asher Literary Award for 2012-13.

Belinda is currently a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Sydney and lives with her husband and daughters on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
