Enjoying a night out in Manly has just got a lot more affordable, following a Council decision to reduce evening and overnight car parking fees.

From 1 July, the evening rate for vehicles entering any of Manly’s four carparks after 7 pm and leaving before midnight has been more than halved from $11 to $5. The overnight charge (from midnight to 6.30am) has been significantly reduced from $50 to $5.

Northern Beaches Deputy Mayor Candy Bingham said the lower fees are great news for all those thinking about the cost of parking when organising a night out.

"This is an initiative I've been pushing for, for years.  Rather than having our car parks empty, this new cheap rate will get cars off the streets and make a visit to a Manly restaurant or pub more affordable.

"It will no doubt be attractive for visitors to our residents who live in Manly's CBD too," the Deputy Mayor said.

“You can plan your evening activities in Manly confident in the knowledge car parking is available and affordable at just $5 until midnight.

“And if you don’t feel like driving home, you can leave the car in the carpark and pick it up as late as 8.30 the next morning, and pay only $10 all up.

“Manly has a vibrant after-dark culture and we hope the lower evening fees will mean more people will choose Manly’s local businesses as a destination for their night out,” Deputy Mayor Bingham said.
