Consultation will begin this week for the Palm Beach Walkway draft design to address ongoing community concerns about pedestrian safety on the route between Palm Beach Wharf and Governor Phillip Park.

Council Administrator Dick Persson AM announced several weeks ago that the Council has decided to act on community concern and safety issues, with the expectation that the construction will be partly funded by the NSW Government.

Council has developed concept designs for a continuous and largely cantilevered walkway for the route, so that visitors and locals in this popular area are not forced onto the road when walking the route, while enhancing the unique aspects of the Palm Beach locality.

As part of that community consultation, there will be listening posts at the pavilion on the beach, Ocean Road, Palm Beach South, where information on both the walkway design and consultation on the development of a southern Palm Beach Landscape Masterplan:

  • Saturday 12 November 1-4pm
  • Wednesday 16 November 3.45 – 6.15 pm
