Northern Beaches Council will transition the Meals on Wheels service in Manly to a new provider, the Village Chef.
This change will bring all Northern Beaches Meals on Wheels clients under one trusted provider, streamlining access and providing one service across the whole Northern Beaches area.
Meals on Wheels in Manly has been provided by Council and funded through the Federal Government’s Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). The Village Chef is funded in the same way and currently delivers the Meals on Wheels service across the wider Northern Beaches as well as to Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby areas.
Northern Beaches Council Mayor Sue Heins said, “While Council will no longer deliver meals directly, we’ll continue to support the wellbeing of our community by working alongside The Village Chef to transition our current customers.
“I want to express my thanks to the dedication of staff, volunteers and community members who have been a part of the Council run service.
“If you or a loved one are currently receiving meals from Council’s service, you will receive more information about the updated service and how you to transition to The Village Chef.” Mayor Sue Heins said.
Council and The Village Chef will work with the Federal Government Department of Health and Aged Care as the CHSP funding provider to complete a successful transition. Call 8495 5010 for further support.
