A key tool for the community to interact with the Northern Beaches Council has scored two awards at an international awards ceremony in New York.

The US Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts has awarded Council Silver Awards in the government and community categories of the 2017 W3 Awards for the new Northern Beaches Council website.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Ferguson said the awards recognise the new, community-focussed Council website, northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au

“In this day and age having a comprehensive, useful and easily accessible website is a cornerstone for any organisation.

“As our connected world continues to expand in new and exciting ways, these awards are a true testament to the power of Web creativity.

“We are proud of the hard work and design creativity our Council team has put into the website, making it a vital starting point for the community’s interaction with Council,” Mr Ferguson said.

There were more than 5,000 entries from around the world.

Since launching on August 23, 2017 the Northern Beaches Council website has already been visited 505,111 times, with the community members viewing over 2 million pages and accessing a wide range of online services. Services most used are our Library, Planning and Development, Events, Parking Permits and Forms.
