With activities like camel rides, a car show, pool party, live entertainment, amusement rides and the always popular BBQ breakfasts, Northern Beaches Council’s Australia Day events have something for everyone.

BBQ breakfasts and activities start from 7am at Dee Why, 7.30am at Newport, 9am at the Aquatic Centre in Frenchs Forest and 8am at the new Lakeside Park location in North Narrabeen.

"As well as, all of the action packed activities on offer across the area the Citizenship Ceremony at 2pm in Manly is a key focus of our events and what better thrill than to become an Australian on Australia Day," said David Kerr, Northern Beaches Council Acting General Manager.

"For many people this is one of the most important and enjoyable days of the year when we come together as Australians to celebrate our nation and our great way of life.

This year Northern Beaches Council welcomes Australia Day Ambassadors, Olympic medallist Lisa Darmanin and TV personality Paul Fenech.

Lisa Darmanin made her Olympic debut at Rio, winning silver in sailing after earning her stripes from the age of nine at Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club.

"It is a real pleasure to see a Northern Beaches local like Lisa achieve such a great honour and be able to give back to the community as an Ambassador.

Paul Fenech is a film maker best known for the comedy shows Pizza and Housos on SBS. He also set a Guinness World Record in 2014 for most 'selfies' taken in 24 hours (2408).

The ambassadors will speak at the Australia Day events at Manly, Dee Why and Newport.

"I encourage everyone to come along to one of our special events, take part in the activities, hear from the Ambassadors and have an enjoyable and safe Australia Day," Mr Kerr said.

The community are reminded that the Narrabeen event has been relocated to Lakeside Reserve, North Narrabeen while the B-Line carpark project gets underway at Berry Reserve.
