Northern Beaches Council has completed recent upgrade works at Nolan Reserve, Manly Vale with the opening of a new basketball half court this week.

The upgrade works include the recently completed amenities building, an eight-lane cricket net facility as well as the basketball half court.

The cricket net facility was built and funded by the Manly Warringah Junior Cricket Association with additional funding from Manly Warringah Cricket Association, NSW Cricket and Northern Beaches Council, based on a Council design.

Mayor Michael Regan said local basketballers have been busy putting the new court through its paces.

“I know keen local youth have been eagerly awaiting this replacement court and they will be out in their droves. We had to remove the old one to make way for the awesome new amenities block and cricket nets.

“Nolan Reserve now offers full facilities for soccer, cricket, rugby league and touch footy players and their supporters and I am very proud of what Council has achieved here with the help of our local community.”

Northern Beaches Council has 12 outdoor basketball facilities (full, half and hoops) across the region.

New basketball facilities in the pipeline include a permanent half court and four multi-purpose courts, which can be used for both basketball and netball, at the Warriewood Valley Sports Courts on Boondah Road, and also a permanent half court and multi-purpose court at Avalon.
